Paddington Market, Footy and Breakie

A couple weeks ago, my friend Linda came to Sydney. What a wonderful surprise for me! Her boyfriend's sister is living here right now, so they came to visit and I was lucky enough to hang out with Linda twice. On the Saturday she was here, we went to the Paddington Markets, which is a local artisan market in the Paddington neighbourhood (appropriately) with a few food options.

Here's me, Jarrett, Linda and Christina.

My main reason for going to the market was to get a hand bound address book for my friend Abby from a local Australian artisan, Kate Raffin. Abby works for an executive business program in Boston and she noticed the journals used by one of her participants. Turns out this participant lives in Sydney normally and knows Kate pretty well. Lucky for Abby, I'm here and was able to get her a book.

It was really cool talking to Kate, mainly about how it was such a small world experience - and her books are amazing. She hand binds and designs them all.

Here is me with Kate and the book that I bought for Abs.

After walking around and talking with Kate, we got some much needed coffee and breakie. I got a delicious blueberry muffin and loaf of potato rosemary bread from the Grumpy Baker - kind of love that name.

Me and Linda!!

After the markets, I went to the Sydney Swans AFL (Australian Football League) game with Jill and her friends/flatmates. This was my first sports game here in Aus - very exciting. We sat right behind one of the goal posts, so had a great view of the very fit footballers in their short shorts. Just sayin. Also, there is no net, so the rugby ball just flies into the crowd when they get a goal. Keeps you on your toes!

Awesome four beer taps!

The next morning, I went to brunch with Kali and her two friends Lindsay and Robby. This was my favourite brunch to date, at The Book Kitchen. Definitely want to take Sameer here when he comes. I had avocado with poached egg on sourdough with rocket (what they call arugula here) and a delicious feta cheese. YUMMMMMMMMMM.
