Friday Night

This past Friday night, Pilar and I went out to dinner at Mamak - a really famous Malaysian restaurant in the city. There is always a line down the street to get a table. We were lucky and only had to wait about 25 minutes. The food was delicious.

Chicken satay. The chicken was so super tender and the peanut sauce tasted freshly made and delicious.

Roti. This was my favorite, probably because it's like pastry dough - the sauces were delicious, too.

Chicken curry. Pilar was literally drinking this sauce, it was so flavorful.

Spicy green beans. These made me drink a lot of water!

Roti with egg and lamb. Not my favorite, honestly. It was more egg than I expected, giving it an omelet texture and I don't like omelets (crazy, right??). Also, the way it was cooked made the lamb pretty dry. Oh well, everything else was great!

After Mamak, we headed over the Grandma's bar. It is a really cute little place in the basement level of a building. The cocktails were delicious and in fun glasses. I had a Raspberry Moscow Mule - raspberry with ginger beer made at the bar and also rum (I think). Pilar had a Paloma, which was very tequila-y. YUM!

I was home and in bed by 11:15. A perfect night, in my opinion!
